Summer Set 2017: BIG WILD
by Bradley Loiederman

Jackson Stell started producing tracks under the alias “Jbeats” when he was 14, sticking mostly to hip hop beats with some trap influences. After traveling to California with his girlfriend in 2012, he started moving away from hip hop beats and started forming Big Wild. Stell gained a lot of his initial influence through other up-and-coming producers on Soundcloud, experimenting with numerous different elements he found from the music-sharing website. Stell started gaining attention shortly after with his remixes of “Stayin’ Alive” and “Milkshake”. After years of working hard and making his way up the Soundcloud circuit, Stell had his break in 2015 when Odesza discovered his Soundcloud and asked him to open up for them at some West Coast shows. He continued his career with Odesza by signing to their label, Foreign Family Collective, in 2016 and releasing his track, “Aftergold”. This track gained millions of plays over multiple different streaming networks and made this newcomer one of the most streamed Foreign Family artists. Stell started 2017 with a bang, releasing his first professional EP titled The Invincible EP; the title track on his EP, “Invincible”, gained over a million views on just Soundcloud alone and has even made it onto the US Dance charts. These past few years have been a whirlwind of success for Stell, proving his Big Wild stage name to be accurate.

Although he has only been a member of Foreign Family Collective for a year, this youngster has taken the scene by storm and continues to release mesmerizing dream-state tracks and sets. Make sure to catch Big Wild this August for his debut at Summer Set Music Festival!
