One of the most anticipated tours in big room house is finally arriving at its Minneapolis stop this Friday, the House of Borgeous tour! Playing the main stage at Skyway Theatre are none other than Borgeous, Lookas, and Breathe Carolina. With a stacked local lineup to support these big acts, you’re not gonna want to miss this show!
Starting off the night is the electronicore gone electro house trio Breathe Carolina. Breathe Carolina consists of Denver natives David Schmitt, Tommy Cooperman, and Eric Armenta. Schmitt started the group back in 2007 with their self-released EP, Gossip. They quickly rose to prominence through Myspace and iTunes, and in 2009, they released their album Hello Fascination and were featured on Jay Leno and MTV. In 2011, they released their hit track “Blackout” and gained incredible success in both the pop world and the electronic world for it. “Blackout” hit top charts in four countries as well as received gold certification by the RIAA. In 2014, they changed up members and completely switched their sound, blending together their old style of electronicore and different genres of newer house, such as electro house and big room. Breathe Carolina have made it to the top in one genre and are determined to make it to the top in another!
On stage after Breathe Carolina is one of the most unique and talented trap producers to take the scene by storm recently, Lookas! Hailing from Miami, Lookas started breaking out into the scene in late 2013 with his remix of Borgeous’ “Tsunami”, getting released officially on Ministry of Sound in 2014. This remix, one of the first he released, gained over three million plays on soundcloud and gave him international attention. Since then, Lookas has released a plethora of remixes and original tracks that have made us all rethink what trap music can be. He has played at EDC, Tomorrowworld, Safe in Sound, and Life in Color and has been featured as one of the top 10 acts to watch out for by both Billboard and Rolling Stone. Lookas has been on a grand journey these past three years, and his increasing popularity and orgasmic sound keeps tracks and sets entrancing!
And finally, we have the headliner of the tour and the man who put it all together, Borgeous! Hailing from LA, Borgeous takes big room house and makes it even bigger with his full bass and his speedy beats. His career launched in 2013 with releases such as “From Cali With Love” and “Rags to Riches”. He signed to Spinnin’ Records in late 2013 and released “Tsunami”, one of his biggest tracks to date. “Tsunami” hit the charts in 10 different countries as well as the Billboard and Beatport charts. Since then, he has produced for superstars such as Ariana Grande, has had his music featured as the Life in Color 2015 anthem, and has been featured in DJ Mag’s Top 100 Djs. He released his debut album, 13, on Armada last summer to rave reviews and started planning his House of Borgeous tour soon after. In only four short years, Borgeous has climbed his way to being one of the most talked-about new school house artists around, and his dedication to providing new tracks to his fans keeps his sets fresh as hell!
Coming through Skyway Theatre on Friday night is the House of Borgeous tour, a tour of three very different artists coming together to bring you a night of glee. With Breathe Carolina starting off the night with hardcore electro house, Lookas bringing the heaviness in the middle, and Borgeous closing out with the biggest big room you’ll ever hear, you’re sure to stray away from disappointment. So make sure to come out Friday and welcome the House of Borgeous tour!
