EDX @ Rev 1/21/17
by Bradley Loiederman

One of my favorite experiences within music is watching how hard work and strengthening talent pays off for an artist’s career, and EDX is a perfect example of this. This Swiss progressive house artist has been making music since 1994 and has gone from playing tiny clubs in Zurich to playing for crowds of over 60,000 people around the world. He will be making his way to Minneapolis this weekend and playing a festival-sized set at Rev Ultra Lounge on Friday!

EDX started dabbling in electronic music in 1994, releasing a variety of singles and really fine-tuning his sound throughout the late 1990s. He released his first single, “I’m Not Interested”, in 1998 on Warner Music and Energetic Records. Since then, he has released countless singles, Eps, and albums on labels such as Spinnin’, Armada, and PinkStar. His music has caught attention from some of the biggest names in EDM and have brought him to work with the likes of Deadmau5, Benny Benassi, Armin Van Buuren, Kaskade, and Steve Angello. He has even been ranked in Beatport’s Top 3 Best Progressive House Producers! And when he’s not in the studio making legendary progressive house tracks, EDX is taking the club and festival circuit in storm, playing in clubs all around. He recently started 2017 with a fantastic skyline remix of Lika Morgan’s “Feel The Same” and will continue to shake up 2017 with his show at Rev this Friday!

One of the reasons EDX has gained so much success over the years is his transition between different subgenres of house music and how it’s blended together. EDX’s early stuff has a lot of progressive influence, whereas his more recent stuff is deeper and includes elements of electro. And for the past few years, EDX has really started experimenting with including multiple other house elements into his refined deep house sound. His remix of “Feel The Same” has a lot of electro house synth influences, especially in its drop. “High On You”, his recent single, has a lot of progressive melodies and beats throughout its buildup and drop. EDX has toned his sound by experimenting in genre-blurring, and it has brought him to worldwide success!

Hailing from Switzerland, EDX has large experience in both old electronic and new electronic and has been able to blend everything he’s learned through his career into a beautiful medley of sound. So make sure to get your high spirits ready and give Minneapolis some house with EDX at Rev on Friday!
