Jake Osher, better known as Jayceeoh, is a trap producer hailing from the City of Angels. After coming through Minneapolis in 2013 and saying on Twitter that we were the best show on the tour, he will be back again at The Loft on September 18th!
Jayceeoh has quickly gone from a local Los Angeles DJ to a worldwide star of trap in just a few short years! In 2010, Jake Osher decided to pick up some turntables and start a career as DJ Jayceeoh, spinning a wide mix of hip hop, reggae, electro, and trap. In mid-2013, Jayceeoh entered VH1’s TV competition, “Master of the Mix”, and was crowned champion! In just a couple months, he released his first original song, a collaboration titled “DAMN”, on Fools Gold Records. With DAMN being such a success, he has continued to release tracks on labels such as Dim Mak, Buygore, Ultra, and Atlantic. His success continued to skyrocket in 2014, gaining attention from artists such as Diplo, Bassnectar, A-Trak, Borgore, and The Bloody Beetroots. His tracks also made their way to large music platforms such as Dancing Astronaut, Run The Trap, and Vibe Magazine. Not only has he been releasing tons of tracks and remixes to keep his fans updated with new material, but he has also been touring all over the world and making the ground move in over 32 countries worldwide! Jayceeoh has also been awarded the opportunity to play at major festivals such as iHeartRadio Festival, TomorrowWorld, EDC, and Lights All Night! Jayceeoh has made a huge impact on the scene in just a few short years and continues to leave his mark all over the trap community through 2015!
Jayceeoh may be a rising star in the trap community, but his tracks and remixes are anything but typical trap. Although he follows commonly used trap layouts and makes his drops very trapped out, he adds lots of funky elements common in other hip hop styles to his tracks, creating a track that you can both get down and groovy to. You can easily see this when looking at his latest release, “Turn Me Up Some”. The song starts like many newer rap songs, with introductions from the MCs and lyrics to get the listener’s heart racing. The buildup is quick and intense, only lasting about 15 seconds; the song then drops into a heavy trap track that will guarantee booty shaking in any direction. However, even throughout the drop, the MCs’ lyrics peak through, sometimes getting morphed into the beat and other times becoming the focus of the track. The speed and format of the track are also less typical of trap and more typical of hip hop: there are three drops in the track rather than two (like how the chorus is generally performed three times in hip hop tracks), and the track is sped up and repeated in slightly different ways, similar to hip hop tracks. Jayceeoh has found the perfect balance between EDM qualities and hip hop qualities, making his tracks spectacular and his sets jaw-dropping!
While Jayteeoh is producing tons of material and DJing at some of the most influential places in the world, he has also become a brand ambassador for SOL Republic headphones and become the face of the Smirnoff Vodka x Spotify Music campaign. Not only that, but he has also provided sounds for some of the largest brands around, such as Beats By Dre, Burton, Nike, Adidas, Comedy Central, and Playboy! Not only has his success in the past few years brought him to the top of the trap scene, but it has also made a huge impact on branding throughout the world!
Jayteeoh, a trap producer from Los Angeles, has taken the scene by storm the past few years, with releases on some of the largest labels around and performances at places most DJs dreams of playing. His mix of hip hop into his tracks and sets will keep everyone moving and grooving till the sun comes up, making this artist not one to sleep on! So let’s all come out and make his show with Dotcom at The Loft on September 18th even more memorable than his last!
