It’s rare to find an artist gain major support from almost every big player in EDM in just three years, but Kennedy Jones is that diamond in the ruff! Starting only three years ago in sun-filled SoCal, Kennedy Jones has swiftly destroyed the trap and hip hop scene with his slamming mixes and speaker-blowing sets. He will be going head-to-head with Sidney Samson on June 17th at The Loft!

Kennedy Jones has been making music for a long while, participating in different bands and a collaboration dubstep project that had a track signed to Ultra. However, in early 2013, he decided that it was time to focus on his solo career, and Kennedy Jones was born! He started his career in the fast lane, quickly gaining notoriety for his remix of Elvis Crespo’s “Suavemente”, which was released on the Buygore All Stars album in 2013. This remix received worldwide radio presence, being played frequently on KIISFM and BBC Radio 1, and was officially signed to Sony Latin Records in 2014. His stardom sped up in 2014, releasing his remix of “Roar” by Katy Perry to critical acclaim and gaining over two million plays on soundcloud. Since his start, Kennedy Jones has released tracks on some of the biggest labels in the game, such as Ultra, Sony, Mad Decent, Dim Mak, Universal, Red Bull, Firepower, and Buygore! His ability to turn any track into a high-energy, booty-shaking, hard-hitting banger has gotten him support from the likes of Skrillex, Diplo, Major Lazer, Carnage, 12th Planet, Bro Safari, and many more. Not only has he had extreme success in his releases, but he has also stolen the festie circuit by storm, throwing down mind-altering sets at EDC, Escape from Wonderland, Paradiso, Electric Zoo, and many others! Just a few days ago, he released his remix of Drake’s “One Dance” exclusively by free download off his Facebook, showing his appreciation to his fans even after blowing up in the scene. Kennedy Jones has gone from a small-time California producer to one of the biggest names in trap in only three years, and his continued humble success makes him an artist to keep an eye on!

What makes Kennedy Jones stand out from the rest of his trap peers is his ability to take elements of multiple genres and blend them into trap, and not just from EDM. He often takes elements of metal and classic rock and blends them in with big room and trap. Looking at his remix of Barely Alive’s “Elephant”, you can easily see the metal influence into his tracks. The drop is heavy and full of high-pitched synths and powerful drums, feeling like a breakdown in an As I Lay Dying song. The second drop is even heavier, creating guitar riffs out of synths and really adding a pit-opening vibe that is sure to keep the energy growing until the sun comes up. Kennedy Jones is a prime example of what happens when you blend metal and electronic, making him a unique artist that is sure to shake The Loft’s floor with bass!

In a short three years, Kennedy Jones has gone from struggling in SoCal to headlining at some of the biggest clubs in the world! His blend of metal influence into EDM has gained him international attention and has put his tracks on some of the most prominent labels around. And although he has seen extreme success since 2013, he still gives back to his fans with any chance he gets! So get your bass brains ready for one of the craziest nights this summer as he goes up against Sidney Samson at The Loft on June 17th!
