Netsky @ The Loft & UCast @ Rev 4/1/17
by Bradley Loiederman

This weekend is a very exciting weekend for the Twin Cities: we get to welcome some genres we don’t often see to town! On Saturday alone, we’re bringing one of the legends of future drum and bass, Belgium producer Netsky, to the intimate setting of The Loft! And if drum and bass isn’t your groove, jump over to Rev to welcome the Belarus-based trance icon UCast!

While many artists have personal connections to their stage names, Boris Daenen chose Netsky because of a computer virus name popular in the mid 2000s. He started his Netsky project in 2008 with solely remixes and quickly got signed to Hospital Records in late 2009. He started moving quickly up the dnb charts with his self-titled debut album, containing some of his future classics such as “Iron Heart” and “Moving With You”. Following his essential mix and his rise in Europe, he released his second album, 2, which made it to number one in Belgium and in the top for Britain. In 2012, he debuted his signature live performance, Netsky Live, at Hospitality Brixton; Netsky Live is a combination of Djing and live instruments creating a well-rounded dnb set. He has brought Netsky Live with him all over the world and to many festivals that he’s performed at, such as Ultra, Tomorrowland, and Reading Festival. Netsky is a staple of the future Hospital Records team, and his show at The Loft on Saturday is going to be a show to remember!

And if drum and bass just isn’t your thing, make sure to welcome UCast to Rev! Hailing from Belarus, UCast has done a lot of firsts for artists in that country. He was the first Belarusian artist to win “The Tune of the Week” on A State of Trance, be awarded the Best Newcomer Award of 2015 by Trancepodium, and make it to the first spot on the Beatport Trance Charts. Starting in 2007, UCast released original tracks right away and started gaining attention from the likes of Tiesto and Ronski Speed. He continued this success with the creation of his own radio show in 2009, Injection. And in 2010, he started his own record company, LiftedSounds Records, to release his own material as well as to break out new trance artists. UCast has put a lot of work into growing within the trance community and growing the trance community itself, and he’s ready to bring us some Belarus love this Saturday at Rev!

We want to make sure you have a great weekend by bringing two amazing artist on one night! Over at The Loft, we’ve got drum and bass star Netsky bringing you some melodic and futuristic beats. At the other end of the block, we’ve got trance up-and-comer UCast giving you some feels through 140bpm. So whether you’re looking to dance your shoes off or spread some love, head down to The Loft or Rev on Saturday and join us for an amazing night!
