Summer Set 2017: RUN THE JEWELS
by Bradley Loiederman

Run The Jewels came into existence in 2012 after El-P produced Killer Mike‘s album, R.A.P. Music. After vibing and releasing a few tracks such as “Butane”, Run The Jewels released a self-titled album onto Fool’s Gold. Run The Jewels hit four different Billboard Top 50s and threw the new duo into the limelight. Only a year later, they released their second recorded album, Run The Jewels 2, on Mass Appeal. The release truly gained mass appeal and hit four top 10 spots on Billboard charts; it even made it to the top 50 of the Billboard 200. Run The Jewels 2 also produced some of their most recognizable tracks, such as “Blockbuster Night, Part 1” and “Close Your Eyes (And Count To Fuck)”. The release of their most recent album, Run The Jewels 3, back in December has created even more acclaim to this rap/production duo, hitting number 13 in US sales. The new album showed the world that this gritty group can polish their sound when desired. This duo will be making their debut at Summer Set Music Festival, so make sure to come out and catch their stuff on Saturday!
