It gives me so much joy to see the Twin Cities trance community heavily grow, and Ascension isn’t over yet. Coming to Rev tonight is one of the key contributors to uplifting trance and a staple in the Swiss trance community, Sean Tyas!
Born in New York and currently residing in Switzerland, Sean Tyas gained an interest in electronic music from a tape he heard of electronic interpretations. His career first started when he moved to Germany in 2004 to work for DJ Beam; however, he didn’t get his first big break until he moved to Switzerland. In 2006, Sander van Doorn selected him as the winner of the “Punk’d” remix contest. Soon after, Mixmag and Beatport named him “Best New DJ” and “One To Watch”. Since then, Tyas has landed numerous #1 hits on the Beatport Trance Charts and has remained on the DJ Mag Top 100 five consecutive times. Tyas has also played at almost every big name festival you can think of: EDC, Ultra, Tomorrowland, Ministry of Sound, and A State of Trance to name a few. Sean Tyas has grown to be an icon in European trance in only 10 years and continues to surprise listeners.
Although Sean Tyas can create some uplifting, dreamlike music, he has recently shown that he knows how to throw down some harder trance. Take his remix of John Askew’s “Shine” or his collaboration with Darren Porter titled “Relentless” for example: both tracks have a fast-paced measures that create a video game aesthetic. These tracks break far away from dreamy, uplifting trance and give out more of an energetic and speedy approach. Sean Tyas knows how to please both the softer trance fans and the harder trance crowds, making his set at Rev enjoyable for anyone!
Hailing originally from the US but getting his name known in Switzerland, Sean Tyas has become a staple in the trance community in just a few years. He has received numerous achievements in his career and continues to gain more through his versatility. He will be making his way to Rev Ultra Lounge tonight, so make sure to get your trance vibes ready for Sean Tyas!
