Coming up on Friday is one of the anticipated shows we’ve got this fall, Zeds Dead! Zeds Dead have been touring around the country building hype for their new album, Norther Lights, that is set to release on October 14th. While touring around, they have released four different tracks from the album, growing the excitement for Friday. And who else to start the night before Zeds Dead’s big release other than the amazing Illenium and Hunter Siegel!
Starting out the night on Friday will be none other than Canadian producer Hunter Siegel! Hunter Siegel broke out on the scene in 2013 with his independent release of “Waiting Up”, quickly gaining attention from the likes of Steve Angello, Todd Terry, and Jack Ü. Only a year later, he partnered up with Zeds Dead and released “Loud”, a hard-hitting anthem that has gained over a million soundcloud plays. Since his explosion in 2013 and 2014, Hunter Siegel has continued to bring his hard electro sound to all over the world, such as Electric Zoo and Hard Summer. Just 11 days ago, Hunter Siegel released a deep-style bootleg that’s both parts vibey and dirty, making this Canadian’s debut in Minnesota even more exciting!
Opening up right before Zeds Dead on Friday will be one of the biggest melodic bass producers we’ve seen yet, Denver-based producer Illenium! Illenium has truly skyrocketed since his debut show in Minneapolis back in March. He went from selling out The Loft to bringing thousands of people to both The Big Top and the Summer Set after party in only a few short months, and he continues to pack people into every show he plays. Starting back in 2013, Illenium has perfected the art of using polyphonic melodies to emphasize emotion while still creating a heavy build and drop sequence. His tracks and sets are often some of the most emotion-packed you’ll ever hear, and yet he still can drop it into some grimy, mid 2000s warehouse dub at any point in his set. Even his productions vary from track to track: although his focus is on melodic dub, he is still known to put out heavy garage dub such as his track titled “Bring Forth The Pressure”. Illenium is one of the fastest growing and most versatile artists in the entire dub game; he has the potential to play stadiums the next time he comes through with how fast he’s growing, so make sure to catch him at Myth on Friday while you can!
Hunter Siegel, Illenium, and Zeds Dead are coming together on Friday 10/14 to make Myth vibrate with energy and bass! While their music differs throughout sound and genre, they will all together create one of the greatest shows Saint Paul will ever see. So make sure to come out to Myth on Sunday and give all three artists a big Minnesota welcome while we celebrate Zeds Dead’s debut album release on 10/14!
